to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of EVERYTHING WILL BE OK, we're senselessly giving away free DVDs of the movie with any purchase of anything:
give extra copies to friends. plant them in the ground and build them miniature beds. what will you name them? enter special coupon code EVERYTHINGWILLBEOK:
a limited number of these signed wisdom teeth prints are in the shop
the online shop tells us they've uncovered a lost stash of the very out-of-print REJECTED DVD single from 2001. these have the deleted scene on them that we didnt release elsewhere, and pretty great packaging. otherwise totally unremarkable.
here's a nice article from 2010's san francisco event
the everything will be okROCKET shirts are now available in black. because there are some of us who will only wear black:
the i am so proud of you snow globes sold out. we were going to make one more batch of them but the last ones we could find were delivered to us cracked, smashed and leaking. opening the box was like the saddest christmas ever.
an old interview with don for AFI has been posted
here.
two other surprisingly interesting interviews have been posted in here.
these I AM SO PROUD OF YOU shirts are now in the shop and look pretty great:

Over 40 minutes of interviews from the EVENING WITH DON HERTZFELDT TOUR
2010 cartoon WISDOM TEETH, newly remastered
A little deleted scene from IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY

::: In theaters:
The new feature film will be making its way into a bunch of theaters this fall. The newly unified trilogy is titled IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY, the same title as the third chapter, to, uh... make things as confusing as possible. Come see it on the big screen if you can. It is a somewhat different cut than the one coming to DVD, but sort of not really. Also expect one or two surprises.

:::: Everything will be OK is now online for a little while, in disappointing Youtubey quality. Share it with people you like::
:::: This version of REJECTED with director text commentary is one of many strange special features from the BITTER FILMS VOLUME 1 DVD collection::
:::: Here is Wisdom Teeth in HD. Showtime will be broadcasting the short for a little while longer before chaining it up in a box and throwing it into a well. They are not aware however that it can only be destroyed with one of the seven daggers of Megiddo.
Please do not point at eyes or face
Wisdom Teeth was first spotted as a surprise
conclusion to the last three Evening with Don Hertzfeldt touring programs in Ottawa + Montreal in October 2009. In January 2010
it drunkenly revealed itself at the Sundance Film Festival, punched a woman in the mouth, and ran off into the snow without pants. It next showed up at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, where it stumbled into the room cursing God with vodka on its breath. The short allegedly made a lewd gesture before disappearing again in a cloud of horrible ants.
::::Watching Grass Grow is another exclusive feature from the Volume 1 DVD, following Don in timelapse as he animates The Meaning of Life over the course of a few years. Also included here are original video pencil tests from the short:
:::: Meanwhile, The Meaning of Life is available for viewing for a limited time over at MUBI:
::::Wisdom Teeth inexplicably managed to win a Special Jury Mention from the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal. Meanwhile, I Am So Proud of You and Everything will be OK have been jointly awarded "Best Picture" at the MUMIA Animation Festival in Brazil.
:::: In April 2010, Don received the San Francisco International Film Festival's "Persistence of Vision" Lifetime Achievement Award and showed some movies, and a fantastic time was had by all. Previous recipients of the award include Errol Morris, Faith Hubley, and Jan Svankmajer. In 40 years, following the crushing disappointment of the rest of his life, he will be getting a sheepish phone call from the festival asking if maybe they could have it back.
:::: I Am So Proud of You has won its 26th and 27th awards, with a Special Award for "Original and exciting visual techniques" at Anifest in Zagreb and Best Short Film at the Animage Festival in Brazil. Other awards include a Special Mention at the International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima in Krakow,
a Special Jury Prize for "original form and human warmth" at the Message to Man Film Festival in Russia,
Best Picture and Best Screenplay from the Fargo Film Festival, the Grand Jury Prize at the Florida Film Festival,
Best Animated Film at Fantastic Fest in Austin,
Best Film at Curta Cinema Rio de Janeiro, and the Golden Starfish from the Hamptons International Film Festival.
Meanwhile,
Everything will be OK has won its 40th award, the Special Jury Prize from Italy's Lucca Animation Festival!
